Edible Garden announced that it achieved high scores in its PrimusGFS audit, ensuring that the manufacturing, packaging and delivery of its products comply with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)-accredited certification program standard. PrimusGFS is a prestigious audit and certification program widely recognized by GFSI for its expertise in ensuring food safety in the fresh produce industry.

Edible Garden CEO Jim Klass commented, “We are thrilled to have achieved the highest level of Primus GFS score, a testament to the Edible Garden team’s hard work and dedication to maintaining rigorous food safety standards. This achievement not only highlights our commitment to providing the highest quality products, but also ensures the efficient production and delivery of fresh, sustainable produce, in line with our Zero Waste mission, and reinforces our leadership in food safety.”

“At Edible Garden, we are constantly striving to improve our food safety standards throughout our operations,” said Jantia Khan, Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance. “Achieving such a high score in the PrimusGFS audit from the most stringent of all regulatory bodies is extremely significant to us. This audit result reinforces our ongoing commitment to food safety issues and aligns closely with our ongoing research investigation with Auburn University’s Department of Horticulture into food safety issues related to fresh produce contamination, such as Listeria, within the CEA AgTech sector.”
