Fire incidents: Three fires in one day cause loss of Rs 1.55 lakh | Nagpur News

NAGPUR: Three fires were reported in the city, one at the Special Branch of city police and one at a hotel, on Saturday.
In both cases, firefighters from Nagpur Fire Department were called in to douse the blazes, and fortunately, no one was killed or injured.
The initial fire was reported at 3:11 pm in an empty room of the city police special branch office near the police control room in Civil Lines. Soon after the fire was reported, fire engines from the Civil Lines fire station were rushed to the spot and the blaze was brought under control by 4 pm. The fire gutted computers, wireless sets, air conditioners and other items worth a total of Rs 1.5 million.
In another incident, a fire broke out at a shop in Mate Square at 7 pm. Fire tenders from Trimurti Nagar Fire Station rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control within 45 minutes. Goods worth Rs 40,000 were destroyed in the blaze.
The third fire was reported at 7.48pm on Saturday at a hotel in Sitabuldi due to a short circuit. A fire tender from Cotton Market Fire Station was rushed to the spot and the blaze was put out within 45 minutes. The blaze caused damages worth Rs 10,000 crore.
The number of fires in the city has increased sharply since the start of the summer.
